Anxiety is the future-focused mind.
To cope with anxiety, the mind does the following:
- distact (TV, social media)
- avoid
- seek reassurance
- fight
Practical approaches to countering anxiety:
- Bring the mind to the present.
- Increase awareness of anxious thought processes.
You don’t control the outcome of the action; you control only the action. For example, you can’t “fail a test” (that is an outcome).
