Anxiety

Anxiety is the future-focused mind.

To cope with anxiety, the mind does the following:

  1. distact (TV, social media)
  2. avoid
  3. seek reassurance
  4. fight

Practical approaches to countering anxiety:

  1. Bring the mind to the present.
  2. Increase awareness of anxious thought processes.

You don’t control the outcome of the action; you control only the action. For example, you can’t “fail a test” (that is an outcome).
