Struggling with outlines for fiction
Despite spending a good amount learning about Structuring a story, any time I try to use story structure to write a story from scratch, I fail.
I find myself, as a writer, puppeteering the characters to do what I need them to do at the right time and the right place. The story is lifeless, emotionless, unengaging, forced.
Maybe this is because breaking down a story into its smallest parts — Atomic thoughts — leads to a situation where I’ve removed all the life, all the emotion from the story.
