The human way of using like or retweet
I told Tom Stuart (non evil version) that I enjoy reading his weeknotes, and he responded with thanks for saying that. It’s better than a Twitter like. Maybe this is part of a larger idea around human communication on Twitter:
-
If you like a tweet, don’t just click the heart but leave a reply. Still click the heart to appease the algorithm; we need to work within the system and we can’t ignore that the algorithm exists.
-
Prefer quote tweeting rather than blank retweeting. It creates the opportunity to write something human, meaningful. Don’t retweet or quote tweet anything you disagree with (don’t give exposure to people that should not have it).
Guidelines, not rules. I’m not going to follow these to the letter but it’s a good direction to go in.
