Weeknotes 2021 W48

Week of November 29 to December 5, 2021
What are these? These weeknotes are a reflection on the past week. I write about anything from hobby projects and work to creativity and mental health. I publish my weeknotes every Sunday morning. Consider subscribing via email or using the web feed!

I finished one of the main quest lines in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla base game, as well as the Wrath of the Druids DLC. I still have The Siege of Paris, which I’ve played with a little bit.

AC Valhalla and other games like it are just too huge for me now I think. It gets slightly repetitive, but the main issue is that it’s just so much content to go through.

It’s been a long time coming, but I finally migrated my @stoneship.org domain to Fastmail as well.

I’ve been diving into Swift, playing around with creating a macOS app for visualising and reporting on my finances. I’m trying to go with SwiftUI, but it is limited in what you can do with it, without resorting to AppKit.

We’re phasing out closecontact. It’s has had a good run, but the effort, time and cost to keep it up and running isn’t worth it. It was never a project where we intended it to live long: when we made closecontact, we had hoped that the pandemic would’ve been pretty much gone by late 2021. But look at where we are now… new all-time highs in numbers of infections.

The Corona-Warn-App is a good alternative these days!
