Weeknotes 2021 W42

October 18–24, 2021

  • I’m giving weeknotes a shot. As complex as the title sounds, this is the first weeknote — rather than numbering them sequentially, I’ll go with year + week.

  • I caved and bought Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. I greatly enjoyed Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey (and Assassin’s Creed: Origins but to a lesser extent), and AC: Valhalla was on sale (and within my monthly entertainment budget) so it’s mine now.

Downloading the ~55 GiB game took a long time. I started around noon, and finished in the early evening. When I launched the game though, it needed another ~65 GiB of updates, and the next morning I saw that the download got aborted and had to restart. It’s fully downloaded and installed now, but my holidays are also over.

  • I got some tough feedback at work, that mostly came out of the blue, and I’m struggling to analyse what place it is coming from and what it means for me.
